The Chicago School of Blues is doing an outstanding job in educating our children
in one of America's great musical art forms. Keep-Blues-Alive, pass it on to the next generation.

Nice to see that some of us still believe in PEACE. I'm very discouraged about peace and healthcare reform and disappointed in Obama.
George Bush never disappointed me as I expected only bad from him and he delivered.
Love your picture at the mike.

Thanks for the invite. I like -- and agree with -- your motto Bonni. I saw a couple familiar faces from your performances at Life Force Arts Center. I enjoyed seeing you and your friends perform there. Any performances at Life Force Arts Center coming up?

Bonni,
Congrats on your successful Rock for Kids gig last Friday. With all the talent and passion represented in that line-up of fabulous blues artists, you couldn't miss!
Bonni, I noticed you were wearing your "keeping things light hip pouch" -- I am honored that you found it worthy of the event! If any of your blues musician friends are looking for a way to carry their essentials hands-free, they might want to check out my website at keepingthingslight.com. I can custom make pouches to meet anyone's practical and/or creative needs!
Rock on, Barrelhouse Bonni!

Hey Bonni-
Meeting you and enjoying your wonderful, heart-felt music was truly a blessing this February--a month of tribulation and challenge otherwise. I hope we manage to keep in touch regularly. I am SO looking forward to your next appearance at Joplin's Java in Waukegan, and I hope to get out to see you in other Chicago venues as well. Keep up your inspiring labor of love!

"We had a packed house for Barrelhouse Bonni's show Friday Feb. 13 2009,at the Joplin Java coffeehouse, which is part of our Family Piano Co store in Waukegan, IL. The audience loved the blues: They were clapping, stomping
their feet and singing along. Musicians in the audience jumped in and it became an infectiously joyous evening. The day afterwards, I watched
Bonni help a youngster learn a few basic concepts on the piano. I highly recommend her as a teaching artist as well.
We're selling a lot of pianos these days, because we
offer instruments for people at all budget levels. Real acoustic piano music is coming back. The research is compelling about brain development for ALL ages! Also, the sound is bringing folks together. As Bonni and her friends showed, it's a barrel of fun!

I really enjoyed your workshop, Bonnie, esp. making connections through music with the younger generation. And, from what feedback I have received, this year's Saturday night "plenary" was the best yet -- and you played a large part in that! So thanks, ever so much, for all you did to help make our 2008 Annual Gathering a success. I know it was fun for you too, and that's all the better!
Best wishes,
Steve

Hey Bonni,
Came across your very cool website and had a lot of fun reading about what you're up to. You look great! (Love the short hair!)
I'm well. Retired from teaching h.s. in the Bronx 2 years ago. It's wonderful to have the time to persue passions (and not have to go to sleep at 9:30 pm).
Have a wonderful Christmas and a joyous New Year!
Love,
Rosie

Some pretty harsh things you said about other local blues lovers/musicians competing in the IBC.
Sorry you feel that way, but your article really knocked local talent and knocked artists around the country who were at the IBC.
Guess Memphis should ask you to judge.
